EPOXY LINING IN TEXAS

Epoxy Lining in San Antonio, Texas | Drain Connection
When a main sewer line cracks, corrodes, or is damaged by tree roots, the traditional solution has always been a full-scale excavation. This meant digging trenches through your yard, driveway, and landscaping, leading to a costly mess and lengthy repairs. There is a more advanced and less invasive solution.
Drain Connection specializes in modern Epoxy Lining, a powerful method that creates a brand-new, structural pipe directly inside your existing, damaged one. We restore the integrity of your sewer line from within, providing a long-lasting, reliable solution without damaging your property. We service all of San Antonio, Texas, and the surrounding communities like Castle Hills, Alamo Heights, Stone Oak, and La Cantera.
What is Epoxy Pipe Lining?
Epoxy Pipe Lining, technically known as Cured-in-Place Pipe (CIPP), is a process that creates a seamless, joint-free “pipe-within-a-pipe.” The process involves a flexible felt liner that is custom-cut to the length of your damaged pipe. This liner is then thoroughly saturated with a high-strength, two-part epoxy resin.
The resin-soaked liner is inserted into the damaged pipe through an existing access point. An internal air bladder is then inflated, pressing the liner firmly against the inner walls of the host pipe. The epoxy is left to cure for several hours, hardening into a solid, smooth, and incredibly durable new structural pipe.
When is Epoxy Lining the Ideal Choice?
Epoxy lining is the perfect long-term solution for pipes that are damaged but have not yet completely collapsed. It is the preferred method for resolving:
Gaps and Offset Joints: Creates a smooth, continuous pipe that bridges gaps between misaligned pipe sections.
Cracked or Broken Pipes: Seals all cracks and breaks, creating a new, solid pipe wall.
Chronic Tree Root Intrusion: The new, seamless liner has no joints, giving roots no point of entry.
Aging and Deteriorated Pipes: An ideal solution for old cast iron or clay pipes that are corroded or breaking down.
Pipes Underneath Valued Surfaces: The best choice for pipes located under driveways, mature trees, patios, slabs, or landscaping that you don’t want to excavate.
The Major Benefits of Epoxy Lining
No Destructive Digging: Your landscape, driveway, and property remain pristine and intact.
Cost-Effective: By eliminating the need for excavation and restoration, you can save a significant amount of money.
Faster Than Replacement: Most residential lining projects are completed in just one day.
Extremely Durable: The new epoxy pipe is corrosion-proof, root-resistant, and has a life expectancy of 50+ years.
Improved Flow: The smooth, joint-free interior of the newly lined pipe can actually improve flow capacity.
Our Epoxy Lining Process: A Meticulous, Proven Method
Step 1: Thorough Cleaning & Inspection: We always begin by thoroughly cleaning the host pipe with our hydro jetting equipment. This is followed by a detailed camera inspection to assess the damage and take precise measurements.
Step 2: Liner Preparation: A custom felt liner is measured and cut, then saturated with the correct amount of high-strength epoxy resin.
Step 3: Liner Insertion: The flexible, saturated liner is carefully inserted into the pipe through a single access point.
Step 4: Curing the New Pipe: An air bladder inside the liner is inflated, pressing the liner against the host pipe. It remains inflated while the epoxy resin cures and hardens into a rock-solid new pipe.
Step 5: Final Inspection: Once the curing process is complete, the bladder is removed, and we conduct a final camera inspection to verify the quality and integrity of your brand-new pipe liner.

Frequently Asked Questions About Epoxy Lining in Texas
Is this different from epoxy coating?
Yes. Epoxy coating applies a layer of paint-like epoxy to the inside of a pipe to seal pinholes. Epoxy lining (CIPP) is far more robust; it involves installing a new, structural liner that is strong enough to act as a standalone pipe, completely restoring the integrity of the line.
How long does the new epoxy liner last?
A professionally installed epoxy pipe liner has a life expectancy of 50 years or more. It is a truly long-term solution to your plumbing problems.
Can you line a pipe that has totally collapsed?
Unfortunately, no. The host pipe needs to be intact enough to allow the liner to be inserted. If a pipe is completely crushed, another repair method would be needed for that section. Our initial camera inspection will determine if your pipe is a candidate for lining.
Does epoxy lining make my pipe smaller?
The liner does reduce the pipe’s diameter by a very small amount (about 1/4 inch). However, the new liner’s incredibly smooth, joint-free surface often improves flow capacity compared to the old, rough, and deteriorated pipe.
